Secondary device ID
Explanation on how to change the tracker serial (primary device ID) with another ID (secondary device ID) for organizations
Some partners do not want the tracker serial and other tracker-related information to be visible to their organization users, but only to have this visible to themselves.
This happens when for example a partner/customer wants to build the trackers into RTP’s which makes them invisible for any of their own customers. Therefore, the Sensolus tracker serial is of no value and only confusing for the end customer, but the name & serial of the box is what should be visualized to them.
This is especially useful in a leasing context where trackers are hidden, and serials may not be visible or relevant to the end user. In that way partners can give what we call “secondary device ID’s” to the trackers. When they do this, organizations will see instead of the Sensolus tracker serials the secondary device ID’s on the screens where the serial is normally used (also in filters etc.)
