Relocation based triggers

Use of the relocation algorithm to initiate a sequence of actions, such as location capture.

A relocation based trigger uses a combination of an internal accelerometer sensor an advanced algorithm to determine that a certain speed threshold (km/h) and distance has been traveled. The specific trigger thresholds values (speed and distance) are configurable.

Functionality of the relocation algorithm

The TRACK 1030and TRACK 1130 use the relocation algorithm. This means it sends Wi-Fi location updates after the asset has been relocated.

Figure 1. Relocation algorithm
  • The start of a relocation is defined as a distance moved exceeding x km (default: 2 km) and traveled faster than x km/h (default: 40 km/h)
  • The stop of the relocation is defined as been standing still on its new location for minimum x minutes (default: 10)

The thresholds can be configured on the Sensolus platform.
