Platform release 5.4.06

Release 5.4.6

Release notes are now part of the userguide

If you are reading this, it means you already found them - good! From now on, we'll publish the release notes here. We also added some older release notes starting from August 2022.

Web Portal on tablets and mobile phones

The user interface of the Web Portal has gotten a refresh, staying up to date with recent JavaScript libraries. We've improved the responsive design, making sure that the Portal is now properly loaded on mobile phones and tablets: the user interface automatically adapts to the screen size. This gives more flexibility on how to interact with the Sensolus platform while being on the road.

We will keep updating Sensolus App (Android or iOS), but we also want to give a great experience to users who find it easier to simply use the browser-based Portal. There are some administrative sections that will likely never be implemented in the app; so with this update we make sure you can still properly access them while not at your desk. On the other hand, some tasks that require camera or bluetooth access, will always only be possible in the Sensolus App - consider them as complementary solutions.

Include geozone information in geozone related alerts

When 'Inside geozone' or 'Outside geozone' alerts are raised, we now properly include the name of the geozone. This was not present before, which was confusing some of our users.

Accordingly, a 'geozoneNames' field is now included in alerts pushed by the API.

Selecting 12 or 24-hour time format, temperature and distance units

It was previously a bit difficult to consistently show timestamp in the expected time format. With this release, the time format depends on the user language. Select English(Europe) for 24H format; or English for 12H format.

Also, you can now toggle the unit system for distance and temperature separately. Before this release, users could only choose between METRIC and IMPERIAL unit system. With this release, this has been replaced by two separate settings: The unit for temperature (Celsius / Fahrenheit) and the unit for distance (Kilometer / Mile).

More flexibility selection trackers in reports or alerts

When creating alerts or reports (or flow definitions, etc...) for a selection of individual trackers, the Select trackers field now supports searching on more types of identifiers. Before, only searching on name was supported - but this wasn't always practical. The search functionality has been improved to also search on serial, MAC, IMEI.

So the behavior is now more in line with the global search functionality in the upper right corner.
