Public release notes platform release 5.6.10

Dashboard widget: geozone dwell times and in/out

A separate dashboard widget for geozone dwell times has been added. This allows creating a dashboard with overview of dwell times, comparing multiple geozones. Conceptually, this is very similar to the ‘stock evolution’ widget already present since earlier.

Dashboard widget: Geozone activity stream

The dashboard widget ‘Geozone activity stream’ is now available a separate widget in the ‘add widget' dialog. Before, it was only a visualization variant of geozone visit widget - this was a bit hard to find for most users.

Improved map visualization of infrastructure devices

Two improvements have been made to how infrastructure devices are shown on maps:

  • The device icon is surrounded with a pointer, clearly showing the exact coordinates. Until this release, the absence of the pointer gave the (wrong) impression that the position was at the center of the icon, which changes while zooming in/out on the map.

  • The grouping ('clustering') on maps happens less fast, which makes it easier to see the general placement on a site, at lower zoom levels.

TRACK 1101 as semi-static zone anchor

Added support in the platform for TRACK-1101 to act as a semi-static zone anchor in addition to being a fully-fledged tracker. The use-case is to have one main/big asset with a smart tracker, which only moves occasionally, and it should scan for BLE tags; using ENTER-EXIT behavior (also meaning that the ‘Nearby BLE tags’ tab is visible).

BLE tag detection history: map visualization of signal strengths

For BLE tags, in the tab ‘BLE detection history', a panel has been added that shows, using colors, how strong different zone anchors have observed the tag, at a given time.

This is a first prototype, and will evolve later into a ‘hot / cold’ visualization for end-users (allowing to have an idea of where a tag might be, without doing signal strength triangulation).

Geozone address in geozone detail page

The address of a geozone is now displayed in the geozone info panel, (the single geozone detail page, for end-users).

Geozones representing countries, land masses or railroad

It is now possible to add special, large geozones with predefined geometry.

  • Train: Fixed geozone that represents all train infrastructure of the world (as derived from OpenStreetMaps). It can be used to detect if an asset is on the train or not.

  • Land masses: Fixed geozone that represents all land masses. It can be used to detect if an asset is on land or not.

  • Country: Fixed geozone that represents a specific country. It can be used to detect if an asset is in this country or not.

In most cases, it makes sense to always tick the ‘hide on map’ option - it has no value to show these large zones to end-users.

These geozones can be used in advanced use-cases with specific logic depending on the tracker current location.

External BLE sensors list: export to excel and bulk operations

The BLE sensor list can now be exported to excel. It is now also possible to use bulk operations on sensors.

Also, it is possible to search on multiple ‘manufacturer serial’ numbers in the text search field, if they are separated by space or comma (just like with regular serial numbers). This is especially useful when using a bar-code scanner to select multiple sensor devices in the list.

Enlarge images in custom data with the mobile app

In the mobile app, images/photos uploaded in a custom data channel can be enlarged to full screen size by tapping on it.

Alert rules list: search filters on all columns

The “Admin” - “Alert rules” list was still missing the usual filtering fields for all available columns. These filters have now been added.

Retrieve audit log records via API

Audit logs can now be read via API.

API endpoint: /API/v2/Auditlogs/ByFilter

World peace and an end to hunger

Well, actually, no, that just didn't make it into this release. Human nature is not an easy beast to tame. But, who knows what next year will bring ;-)?

Great that you've read all the way to the end of the release notes. It's appreciated, our team spent a lot of effort delivering all these features over the last year.

Enjoy the last days of 2024 - or if you're reading this just back at work: On to a great 2025!
